Airbus, the world's largest manufacturer of airliners, renews the aluminium rolled products supply contract with AMAG Austria Metall AG, which positions the company to capitalize on escalating aircraft production rates and an expanded market presence. AMAG and Airbus have forged an enduring partnership that commenced with a supply agreement in 1995. Over the years, the volume of deliveries has consistently grown, owing to their unwavering commitment to top-tier quality and reliability. An integral factor in this progress has been the substantial investments made in expanding the Ranshofen facility, including adding a state-of-the-art rolling mill and enhancing foundry and recycling capabilities.

The aviation industry increasingly emphasises sustainability, and AMAG plays a crucial role in this effort. With a distinctive value chain that extends from raw materials to fully prepared components, AMAG is making a substantial impact on reducing the aviation sector's carbon footprint.

Leveraging their extensive experience in recycling and cutting-edge foundry and rolling facilities in Ranshofen, AMAG is effectively reducing the carbon footprint of their rolled products in accordance with Airbus' future requirements. Additionally, AMAG is collaborating with Airbus in the aerospace components sector, focusing on closing material cycles to support achieving sustainability goals.

Gerald Mayer, the CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG, said, "We have succeeded in strengthening our market position with our most important aerospace customer over many years by providing reliable deliveries of quality products. This gives us the opportunity to continue the growth path taken by Airbus with new, innovative and sustainable products from state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities."

Airbus has recently recognized AMAG with two prestigious awards, underscoring their exceptional partnership. The "Accredited Supplier" award, the highest distinction among the four quality awards presented by the European aircraft manufacturer to its suppliers, was bestowed upon AMAG.

Novelis

AMAG is currently the exclusive supplier of rolled products to attain this distinguished status. Furthermore, in March, AMAG components earned the D2P Challenger award from Airbus. The D2P program assesses suppliers for detailed parts every twelve to 18 months and has seen AMAG components participating since 2016. Notably, the company achieved the coveted title of D2P Champion in the Challenger category in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. This accolade places AMAG components in the elite group of companies that hold significant importance for Airbus and are considered among the finest machining companies worldwide.
