According to the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), alumina production in Africa & Asia (ex-China) was recorded at 1.181 million tonne during October 2022. That reflected a month-on-month increase of 6.01 per cent from 1.114 million tonnes, following a sequential plunge of 6.86 per cent from 1.196 million tonnes during August 2022.
{alcircleadd}On a year-on-year calculation, Africa & Asia (ex-China)’s alumina production in October edged a hike of 8.35 per cent from 1.090 million tonnes.
Daily average output in October was 38,100 tonnes, up by 1,000 tonnes month-on-month and 2,900 tonnes year-on-year, found IAI.
From January to October, Africa & Asia (ex-China) produced 11.534 million tonnes of alumina, which represented a rise of 5.87 per cent year-on-year from 10.894 million tonnes.
The world’s alumina production in October 2022 was 12.004 million tonnes, registering an increase of 4.02 per cent from 11.540 million tonnes in September 2022 and a hike of 5.49 per cent from 11.379 million tonnes in October 2021.
