A00 ingot prices in China register a rise in all major markets;  stocks continue to stay high

Primary ingot prices in China are hovering at a level close to RMB 14000 after falling drastically by the end of the first week of December. Average A00 ingot price has increased to stand at RMB 13,980/t today from RMB 13,920/t yesterday. As updated by Shanghai Metals Market, the primary ingot prices registered some increase in the domestic markets too.  The price is expected to range within RMB 13960 – 14000 per tonne.

The positive movement in A00 Aluminum prices have continued in all other individual markets in China. Average price of A00 ingot is trending the highest in the South China market at RMB 14,040/t.  The below table shows the price increase in the other major Chinese markets:

The increasing aluminium stock in China as well in the LME warehouses despite production cut remains a concern for the analysts and it is going to put pressure in the prices. Aluminum Alloy (ADC12) prices remain unchanged at RMB 15800/t after the drop at the end of the first week of December.

As for the major raw materials are concerned, as updated by Shanghai Metals Market, average spot alumina price in China has dropped further from RMB 3012 per tonne on December 13 to RMB 2997 per tonne on December 14. Domestic spot alumina prices have also dropped to RMB 3000/t today from RMB 3020/t on December 13.  Chalco alumina prices and imported alumina prices remain unchanged at RMB 3320 and RMB 3600 per tonne despite the drop in domestic prices. Other raw materials like bauxite and prebaked anode remain unchanged.
