A00 aluminium ingot price jumps RMB180/t over the extended weekend; Aluminium alloys prices also up significantly

After the extended weekend holiday in China for Labour Day, the Chinese A00 aluminium ingot price has inaugurated the week starting May 6 with a jump of RMB 180 per tonne to RMB 12,980 per tonne, learned Shanghai Metals Market. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 12,960 per tonne and RMB 13,000 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 50-90 per tonne.

Linyi, among the major Chinese provinces, has seen the highest growth in A00 aluminium ingot price today of RMB 200 per tonne to stand at RMB 13,140 per tonne, followed by a rise of RMB 190 per tonne in Wuxi and Tianjin to RMB 12,980 per tonne and RMB 13,060 per tonne, respectively. In Foshan, Chongqing, and Shenyang, the A00 aluminium ingot price has increased by RMB 180 per tonne to respectively come in at RMB 13,160 per tonne, RMB 13,050 per tonne, and RMB 13,035 per tonne. In Gongyi and Hangzhou, the price has surged by RMB 185 per tonne and RMB 170 per tonne, respectively, to stand at RMB 13,155 per tonne and RMB 13,000 per tonne.

Backed on the rise in A00 aluminium ingot price, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has increased by RMB 250 per tonne to RMB 13,750 per tonne on Wednesday, May 6, according to SMM data. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 13,700 per tonne and RMB 13,800 per tonne.

The prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have also shown no exception but increased today, although slower in comparison with the price of aluminium alloy (A356). The prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have increased by RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 13,950 per tonne and RMB 14,850 per tonne, respectively.

Industry 4.0 in Aluminium

The input costs have shown no change, except the price of prebaked anode in Central, Southwest and Northwest, where it has dropped by RMB 130 per tonne to RMB 2,760 per tonne, RMB 3,070 per tonne, and RMB 3,300 per tonne, respectively, as of May 6.

Also, the bauxite price in Henan has lowered by RMB 15 per tonne to RMB 355 per tonne, according to SMM.
