2020: Japan’s export of aluminium scrap displays five nations absorbed 57% volume of total trade

Japan ranks as the world's third-largest automobile manufacturing nation and is also recognized as the largest electronics goods industry. However, the major Japanese export industries comprise automobiles, consumer electronics, computers, semiconductors, and iron and steel. Furthermore, the additional key industries which contribute to the country’s economy are mining, nonferrous metals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, bio-industry, shipbuilding, aerospace, textiles, and processed foods.

The island country in East Asia, located in the northwest Pacific Ocean, Japan exported 254,739 tonnes of aluminium scrap in 2020 to 24 nations globally and generated revenue of $271.72 million.

Out of the total export of aluminium scrap by Japan in 2020, the five countries with high volume of import are South Korea, China, Vietnam, Hong Kong and India. These five countries absorbed 57.68% of Japan’s total aluminium scrap export in 2020, as by volume it records 146,948 tonnes and contributes earnings of $266.88 million, which counts to 98.21%.

South Korea, the neighbouring country, leads the race of grabbing aluminium scrap exports from Japan with 71,118 tonnes and contributed $208 million to the export nation. Japan’s another next-door nation, China ranks at number two for securing 45,751 tonnes of aluminium scrap from Japanese export and the revenue paid stood $47 million.

The rest of the three nations in the list of five are Vietnam, Hong Kong and India. Vietnam received Japanese export of aluminium scrap of the volume of 16,101 tonnes and paid around $2.07 million, while comes Hong Kong obtained 7141 tonnes of aluminium scrap in 2020.

India stands at the 5^th place in the list tagged with 6837 tonnes of aluminium scrap in 2020 from Japanese export and contributed $9.04 million towards the export of scrap.
