On Thursday, August 29, China’s A00 aluminium ingot price has declined by RMB 250 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,550 per tonne, with the average price expected to stand between RMB 19,530 per tonne and RMB 19,570 per tonne. The spot contract price will be traded at a discount price of RMB 110 per tonne to RMB 70 per tonne.
As per the SMM price graph, Y-o-Y, the A00 aluminium ingot price has witnessed a surge of RMB 640 per tonne from RMB 18,910 per tonne recorded on August 29, 2023. On M-o-M, the price had expanded by RMB 390 per tonne, followed by a fall of RMB 140 per tonne W-o-W from RMB 19,160 per tonne recorded on May 29 and RMB 19,690 per tonne recorded on May 22.
Region-wise analysis
The price of domestic aluminium ingot has fallen in all the provinces, with the highest in Foshan, where it has contracted by RMB 260 per tonne to clock at RMB 19,450 per tonne, followed by a downfall of RMB 250 per tonne in Wuxi and Chongqing. The prices in these regions arrived at RMB 19,550 per tonne and RMB 19,500 per tonne. In Hangzhou, the SMM aluminium ingot prices have descended by RMB 240 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,460 per tonne and RMB 19,560 per tonne.
In Shenyang and Tianjin provinces, prices have slumped by RMB 200 per tonne to clock at RMB 19,500 per tonne and RMB 19,600 per tonne. In Linyi, the A00 aluminium ingot price has dipped by RMB 190 per tonne to peg at RMB 19,600 per tonne.
Other prices
The price of low-carbon aluminium has contracted by RMB 249 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,376 per tonne. The price of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) has grown by RMB 200 per tonne to clock at RMB 26,700 per tonne and RMB 27,700 per tonne. The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has lost RMB 250 per tonne to halt at RMB 20,000 per tonne, with the average prices standing between RMB 19,800 per tonne and RMB 20,200 per tonne.
For (ADC12) and (A380) the prices have slipped by RMB 100 per tonne to peg at RMB 20,150 per tonne and RMB 21,200 per tonne. The average price for (ADC12) may range between RMB 20,050 per tonne and RMB 20,250 per tonne. For (A380), the average price is expected to clock between RMB 21,050 per tonne and RMB 21,350 per tonne.
