China’s A00 aluminium ingot price marks sudden surge of RMB170/t; High purity aluminium price jumps RMB200/t

A00 aluminium ingot price has augmented by RMB 170 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 18,320 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market recorded on March 24, Friday. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 18,300 per tonne and RMB 18,340 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at discount prices of RMB 80 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne. The SMM aluminium price has seen a sudden surge today, as was witnessed on March 15 when the price also stood at RMB 18,320 per tonne. The highest price boost was on March 7, with the price stuck at RMB 18,570 per tonne.

The eight provinces in China all have experienced heightening prices today, with aluminium prices growing the most in Shenyang by RMB 200 per tonne to stop at RMB 18,370 per tonne. In Tianjin, the aluminium price has shot up by RMB 190 per tonne, halting at RMB 18,340 per tonne. The aluminium price in Gongyi has seen a spike of RMB 180 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,260 per tonne. In Wuxi, Hangzhou and Linyi, the aluminium prices have gained RMB 170 per tonne to officially close at RMB 18,375 per tonne, RMB 18,350 per tonne and RMB 18,380 per tonne. In Chongqing, the aluminium price has jumped up the graph by RMB 150 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,450 per tonne. Lastly, in Foshan, the aluminium price has seen an escalation of RMB 130 per tonne to officially arrive at RMB 18,410 per tonne.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has soared by RMB 130 per tonne to halt at RMB 18,992 per tonne.

The high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have levitated by RMB 200 per tonne, closing at RMB 26,100 per tonne and RMB 27,100 per tonne.

The aluminium alloy (A356) price has gained by RMB 150 per tonne to peg at RMB 19,250 per tonne, with the average prices standing between RMB 19,100 per tonne and RMB 19,400 per tonne. On the other hand, both aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have increased by RMB 50 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,300 per tonne and RMB 20,300 per tonne.

The price of aluminium powder in China has been boosted by RMB 0.20 per kg to close at RMB 20.10 per kg, with average prices hovering between RMB 20 per kg and RMB 20.20 per kg.
