Young Designers’ prize awarded to creative talents at The European Aluminium Award 2014

The applications of aluminium in e fields of “Building & Architecture“, “Aerospace & Automotive”, “Marine & Offshore” and “Production Techniques, Tools & Machinery” looks mainly for those aluminium components having positive influence not onlyon final product but also on end-products. In the “Lighting & Interior” and “Design & Lifestyle” categories, mainly the end-products will be judged for their innovative as well as design aspects.
An OVERALL JURY PRIZE will be awarded for overall entry with the best contribution to “Aluminium for Future Generations”.
A ‘public prize’ will be chosen for the for the category of “Lighting & Interior” through internet with the help of social media.
This year, a prize titled “Young Designers” will be awarded third time in a row. Students & designers under 30 years of age will present their creative ideas as well as new approaches to different solutions. The jury has also decided to present the ‘Young Designers’ award.
The independent international jury comprising representatives from the fields of science, design and media and chaired by Prof. Laurens Katgerman of Delft Technical University will select the winners. Its Deputy Chairman will be Vito Oražem, Managing Director of the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. All judged products and projects will be exhibited at ALUMINIUM 2014 in Düsseldorf in October, the award presentation ceremony will be held on 7 October during the festive “ALUMINIUM Night” evening event.
