Under the memorandum of understanding signed by both companies, Martinrea and Yamada will work together to tap into the Japanese market and jointly promote lightweight aluminium solutions within the automotive industry, particularly in the development of electric vehicles.

Martinrea has experience in manufacturing high-performance parts with stringent mechanical needs, which will lead to the production of these parts, both with and without heat treatment. Meanwhile, Itochu Corporation will play a crucial role in providing low-carbon aluminium and support in some Supply Chain Management activities.

The partnership is set to provide Martinrea with an opportunity to expand its global manufacturing footprint in Japan by leveraging Yamada's production expertise and network. They plan to achieve this by utilising large aluminium die-cast for body and chassis parts.
