
According to the latest data showed by International Aluminium Institute (IAI), world primary aluminium production stood at 4.92 million tonnes in February 2019, down 9.07 per cent from January production of 5.4 million tonnes, but up 0.26 per cent from February 2018 production of 4.9 million tonnes.

China’s estimated primary aluminium production came in at 2.78 million tonnes in February, data showed on Wednesday, March 20.
In Asia ex-China, total aluminium production registered 343,000 tonnes last month. This was up 1.48 per cent from 338,000 tonnes in February 2018. In the Middle East, the production dropped 1.93 per cent year-on-year to 406,000 tonnes in February 2019. Total primary aluminium production was ta 414,000 tonnes last year.
Europe primary aluminium production totalled at 588,000 tonne in February, down 0.84 per cent from 593,000 tonnes in the corresponding period previous year. Aluminium production in North America stood at 296,000 tonnes, up 3.86 per cent year-on-year from 285,000 tonnes last year.
