
Global primary aluminium production stood at 5.193 million tonnes in November, with a year-on-year drop of 2.52%, according to the latest data showed by the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) on Friday, 20 December 2019. On a month-on-month comparison, aluminium production declined by 2.92% from 5.349 million tonnes.

Aluminium production totalled 58.189 million tonnes in the first eleven months of 2019, slightly down by 1.11% from 58.840 million tonnes in the first eleven months of 2018.
In Asia ex-China, aluminium production declined by 0.55% year-on-year and 2.97% month-on-month to 359,000 tonnes in November. Output in January-November amounted to 4 million tonnes, unchanged from January-November 2018’s production.
In the Middle East, primary aluminium production stood at 481,000 tonnes and 5.145 million tonnes in November and January-November, up by 11.34% YoY and 5.34% YoY. Europe’s primary aluminium production totalled 627,000 tonnes in November as compared to 642,000 tonnes in November 2018. In January-November, total production stood at 6.955 million tonnes, a decrease of 2.47% YoY.
China’s estimated primary aluminium production stood at 2.880 million tonnes in November, IAI data showed.
