Weiqiao's 750,000-tpy Aluminum Plate/Sheet/Strip Project Reaches Designed Capacity

Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group’s 750,000-tpy high-precision aluminum plate, sheet and strip project, with a total investment of 7.5 billion yuan ($1.22 billion), has now reached its designed capacity, China Nonferrous Metals News cited the company’s chairman Zhang Shiping as saying today.
The company began its extension of industry chain from alumina to aluminum semis three years ago and have been reduced production costs for semis by 500 yuan per tonne, Zhang told the industry newsletter in an interview on the sidelines of China NPC & CPPCC Sessions 2014, adding its double-zero aluminum foils have been exported to foreign countries.
Besides, the company has built a 2 million-tpy alumina production base in Indonesia, highlighting its efforts to get involved in overseas market, according to the report.
