The Vivalda Group has introduced MetSkin, a novel solid aluminium cladding system designed and manufactured in the UK, tailored explicitly for residential high-rise or municipal projects. This comprehensive and thoroughly tested system is produced in-house by MSP Façade Solutions, a subsidiary of the Vivalda Group located in Cumbernauld.

MetSkin is available in three distinct configurations:
Fabricated from a "premium grade" non-flammable solid aluminium sheet, the product undergoes a chrome-free powder coating process on-site to meet the Qualicoat standard. The powder coating is carried out by Prism Powder Coating, a sister company within the group that has earned the prestigious status of an Akzo Nobel-approved applicator.
Andy Thomas, trading director at Vivalda Group, said, "MetSkin represents an important step for us, adding the manufacture of a fully tested system to our established business as the UK's biggest cladding distributor. While we are already well-known by contractors for the supply of world-class, non-flammable cladding materials including fibre cement, GRC, terracotta and solid aluminium, it's exciting to be able to provide customers with our own fully approved and tested envelope system. We see a significant market for this product in the UK, on both new build and retrofit developments. We have worked hard during the two-year development phase to create a complete solution for architects and specifiers – matching existing colours or helping them bring to life their latest vision. For contractors, this means that we supply a total A-rated, tested system, including fixings, rails and ancillary products such as membranes and insulation as required."
MetSkin offers a broad spectrum of design possibilities by providing more than 740 RAL colours for customisation. Additionally, architects and specifiers can choose from an A1 anodised finish or A1 PVDF pre-coated aluminium, further expanding their creative options. This versatility ensures that MetSkin caters to a wide range of aesthetic preferences and project requirements.
MetSkin has undergone rigorous testing to meet CWCT standards at an accredited test centre and is exclusively distributed through the Vivalda Group, which comprises Vivalda, BBS Facades, and Pura Facades. Project Scotland had the opportunity to participate in a dedicated press day at the Cumbernauld site, where the product was officially introduced. A detailed account and images from the event will be featured in an upcoming edition of the magazine.
