Vishay Intertechnology extends useful life of its power aluminium capacitors

<p>Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., the American manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components, announced recently that the company has successfully extended the useful life of 500 V devices in its key offering 159 PUL-SI series of snap-in power aluminium capacitors. Vishay BCcomponents devices now offer a useful life of 5,000 hours at +105 &deg;C for industrial motor control, solar PV inverters, and power supplies.</p> <p>Vishay's 159 PUL-SI capacitors feature a cylindrical aluminium case fitted with a pressure relief valve and a blue sleeve insulation. The aluminium case size varies from 2 x 25 mm to 35 x 60 mm. As per the company's official specification the offering rated voltages from 200 V to 500 V. The devices feature high ripple current to 2.80 A, maximum ESR down to 150 m&Omega; at 100 Hz, and a maximum operating temperature to +105 &deg;C.</p> <p><img style="vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/vishay.jpg" alt="News" width="517" height="291" /></p> <p>The 59 PUL-SI series device with aluminium casing is ideally suited for smoothing, filtering, and energy storage in pulsed power applications and is surely the best in class polarized aluminium electrolytic capacitor with a non-solid electrolyte.
