Vedanta Aluminium has yet again earned a prestigious recognition in the form of two gold awards at the Confederation of Indian Industry's IQ National and Regional Excellence Practice Competition and National Energy Awards for Excellence in Energy Management. One of the awards represents Vedanta's excellence in energy management, and the other testifies to its supply chain operations & safety digitalisation.

It is to be noted that Vedanta has emerged as a winner in two categories from among a diverse pool of industries, including metal, cement, engineering, paper, automation, and others. The secret behind achieving these awards is Vedanta's smart, strategic initiatives like the implementation of 100 per cent Graphitized Cathodes to enhance energy efficiency, which resulted in saving 7.93 million kWh of annual energy.
In addition, Vedanta Aluminium adopted co-firing for generating energy to power operations and deployed the OSI-PI Monitoring System. While the former reduced the company's coal consumption, the latter facilitated efficient data management. Switching to electric forklifts was Vedanta's another smart move that minimised manual intervention by 75 per cent and optimised supply chain operations.
These two latest awards have added a distinguished array to all the acclamations that Vedanta has received over the years for its unwavering efforts in the realm of business excellence.
Mr Sunil Gupta, COO of Vedanta Aluminium Business, said: "We're honoured by the recognition at the CII Awards. This award underscores our commitment to consistent business excellence by digitalizing our supply chain, enhancing our energy efficiency and safety operations. We're dedicated to leading the digital transformation within the manufacturing industry, setting new and higher benchmarks."
