This records a 3% increase from those in the second quarter but 20% drop from the third quarter of 2015. The general downturn of the primary aluminium industry in the U.S. has caused the drop in the import of alumina YOY. The leading sources of imported alumina during the third quarter of 2016 were Brazil that exported 38% of alumina and Australia supplying 30% and Jamaica 18%.
