UK based AHT bags first Korean order

A Dudley business specialising in heat treatment of aluminium alloys has just secured its first order to South Korea.
The assignment is part of a string of several export orders won by Alloy Heat Treatment within the past six months.
AHT has been going for 40 years and has been at the Grazebrook Industrial Park in Peartree Lane for more than a quarter of a century.
Heat Treatment is traditionally considered to be a domestic service, with firms deterred from shipping components long distances to be treated at the final stage of the production process, but the specialised work of AHT has seen interest and orders secured from new customers in France, Germany, Italy, Poland and South Korea so far in 2013.
The company has made its name as the largest sub-contractor for aluminium heat treatments in the UK and has attracted up to 15 international clients from all over the world in the past 18 months with products treated ranging from fasteners to landing gear and breaking systems.
The firm’s expertise is complimented by its National Aerospace and Defence Contractors Accreditation programme merit status.
Director of sales, Ian Perks, said: “We have had a NADCAP accreditation since 2004, but concentrating our efforts very strongly on maintaining it and gaining the merit status last year has led to us increase the potential customer base we are able to tap into.
With higher turnover, the company is now aiming for an increase in growth helped by the expansion in export orders.
