
With over four decades of experience, UAC is a leading global manufacturer and an integrated producer of structural components for the aerospace sector has successfully commissioned a new aluminium billet casting line in Satu Mare, Romania. This new plant enhances UAC's ability to produce aerospace-grade alloys, catering to customers across Europe and globally. This strategic investment will allow UAC to expand its product offerings and strengthen its position as a global leader in the aerospace extrusion industry.

New aluminium billet casting line
The new aluminium billet casting line at UAC's Satu Mare plant was fully supplied by Almex USA Inc., based in Buena Park, California. The comprehensive equipment package includes:
Additionally, the line features a water management system and other peripheral casting line equipment. The entire casting process is seamlessly controlled by the CASTRIGHT® III automation and SCADA system, which integrates all the equipment for optimal operation.
In addition to supplying the casting line equipment, Almex provided comprehensive technology support, installation supervision, and full training on the equipment and processes. Almex's commissioning specialists, with their expertise, oversaw the commissioning process, which included a casting campaign using various aerospace alloys.
During commissioning, the LARS degassing system, one of Almex's flagship products, demonstrated exceptional efficiency. Utilising the ABB AlSCAN™, the team recorded hydrogen levels for the tested 7075 and 2026 aluminium alloys, showcasing the system's superior performance.
