
The US dollar continued its rally against a basket of rivals on Friday. LME aluminium dropped 1.2% and SHFE aluminium lost 0.1%.
Three-month LME aluminium slipped to an intraday low of US$1,493 per tonne in European trading hours on Friday. It closed close the day 1.15% lower at US$1,503.5 per tonne.

As of Friday May 22, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 1473 per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 1473 per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 1498.50 per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 1498.50 per tonne; Dec 21 bid price stands at US$ 1616 per tonne, and Dec 21 offer price stands at US$ 1616per tonne.
The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1458100 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1226375 tonnes, and Cancelled Warrants were 231725 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 1507.34 per tonne.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE increased to stand at US$ 1839 per tonne on Monday, 25 May 2020.
The most-liquid SHFE July contract ended the day 0.43% lower at RMB12,790 per tonne on Friday. The contract fluctuated to close 0.12% lower at RMB12,785 per tonne on Friday night. Shanghai Metals Market expects the contract to move at RMB12,600-13,000 per tonne today.
