Three-month LME aluminium shed 0.66%; SHFE aluminium climbed 0.9%

The US dollar climbed slightly on Thursday.  LME aluminium shed 0.66% and SHFE aluminium climbed 0.9%.

Three-month LME aluminium trimmed some declines during the European trading hours. It bounced back from a session low of US$1,503 per tonne, closing 0.66% lower on the day at US$1,510 per tonne. Shanghai Metals Market expects the contract to trade at US$1480-1520 per tonne today.

As of Thursday, April 23, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 1473.50 per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 1473.50 per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 1509.50per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 1509.50 per tonne; Dec 21 bid price stands at US$ 1632 per tonne, and Dec 21 offer price stands at US$ 1632 per tonne.

The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1307725 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1164525 tonnes, and Cancelled Warrants were 143200 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 1521.02 per tonne.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE stood at US$ 1745 per tonne on Friday, 24 April 2020.

The most-traded SHFE June contract hit an intraday high of RMB12,375 per tonne. It closed the day 0.91% higher at RMB12,245 per tonne. The contract is expected to hover at RMB12,050-12,450 per tonne.
