Three-month LME aluminium ended lower at US$1,853/t; SHFE aluminium rose 0.9%

Three-month LME aluminium hit the highest in more than one year at US$1,858.5 per tonne earlier in the session, ending 0.16% lower at US$1,853 per tonne on Tuesday. It is likely to move between US$1,830-1,870 per tonne today.  

As of Tuesday October 13, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 1841 per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 1841 per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 1854 per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 1854 per tonne; Dec 21 bid price stands at US$ 1904 per tonne, and Dec 21 offer price stands at US$ 1904 per tonne.

The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1412600 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1122025 tonnes, and Cancelled Warrants were 290575 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 1855.10 per tonne.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE increased to stand at US$ 2210 per tonne on Wednesday, 14 October 2020.

The most-liquid SHFE 2011 aluminium contract fell to an intraday low of RMB14,540 per tonne and closed up 0.9% at RMB14,620 per tonne on Tuesday. Open interest rose 6,313 lots to 122,000 lots.

The contract edged down 0.17% to settle at RMB14,585 per tonne in overnight trading. It is expected to trade between 14,400-14,800 per tonne today.
