
The euro jumped to a 12-week high against the US dollar on Thursday. The dollar index, which gauges the greenback against a basket of major currencies, fell for a eighth straight day and plumbed the lowest since March 12 at 96.5774.
Three-month LME aluminium fluctuated to close a tad lower at US$1,564.5 per tonne on Thursday.

As of Thursday June 4, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 1535 per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 1535 per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 1560.50 per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 1560.50 per tonne; Dec 21 bid price stands at US$ 1672.50 per tonne, and Dec 21 offer price stands at US$ 1672.50 per tonne.
The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1526250 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1324400 tonnes, and Cancelled Warrants were 201850 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 1562.21per tonne.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE increased to stand at US$ 1880 per tonne on Friday, 05 June 2020.
The most-liquid SHFE July contract hit to a session high of RMB13,230 per tonne, ending the day 0.5% higher at RMB13,165 per tonne on Thursday. The contract slipped to a session-low of RMB13,090 per tonne in overnight trading, ending down 0.38% at RMB13,120 per tonne.
