
The US dollar rose almost 2% on Tuesday against the yen, reaching its highest in almost 10 months. LME base metals fell across the board last night. LME aluminium declined 0.8%.
Three-month LME aluminium hovered weakly around US$1,710 per tonne and finished the session 0.75% lower at US$1,712 per tonne. The contract is likely to trade between US$1,700-1,740 per tonne.

As on Thursday February 20, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 1686 per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 1687 per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 1713 per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 1715 per tonne; Dec 21 bid price stands at US$ 1843 per tonne, and Dec 21 offer price stands at US$ 1848 per tonne.
The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1150775 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 813875 tonnes, and Cancelled Warrants were 336900 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 1717.50 tonne.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased to US$1937 per tonne on Friday, 21 February 2020.
The most-active SHFE 2004 contract lost 0.26% on the day to end at RMB13,670 per tonne. The contract is likely to move within a range of RMB13,500-13,800 per tonne.
