Tenova LOI to supply and install aluminium recycling furnace to Fonderie Pandolfo

Tenova LOI Thermprocess, a supplier of custom heat treatment lines and specialist in aluminium scrap recycling equipment, announced that it will supply aluminium recycling furnace to Fonderie Pandolfo, the recycling and melting company in Italy. Tenova LOI Thermprocess has received the contract for the supply and installation of a Twin-Chamber Melting Furnace TCF®.

Currently, more than 60,000 tonnes of refined and recycled aluminium are melted and cast into semi-finished products. The new installation will double production to meet the market's continued demand.

The TCF ®, designed for aluminium scrap recycling, has a capacity of 65,000 tonnes per year. The TCF ® is expected to go into operation at the end of this year.

“The beneficial TCF®-process relies on the efficient melting by limiting dross formation due to pre-treatment, while the evolving Volatile Organic Contents (VOCs) are combusted completely in the furnace to decrease the overall energy consumption and fulfill the most restrictive environmental regulations, Tenova LOI Thermprocess said.

“By combining regenerative air heating (CCR) and optimized thermal treatment of the organic scrap components, this proven furnace technology reaches an unmatched grade of energy and metal efficiency. A sophisticated automation technology, applied by Tenova LOI Thermprocess with the aim to streamline a fully automatic charging machine, increases efficiency further.”

 The scope of supply includes the turnkey installation, including a state-of-the-art flue gas treatment plant.
