Talum announces to layoff 120 workers

The Slovenian aluminium producer Talum's decision to close down the primary aluminium production at its smelter will affect 189 workers.

However, the company has announced that it will offer 69 workers new job contracts within the group, while 120 employees will be laid off. The group employs a total of 1,453 employees.

On March 3, 3023, it was reported that the Slovenian aluminium company Talum will shut down its remaining aluminium electrolytic furnaces in April. Talum plans to shut down its remaining aluminium electrolytic furnaces in April after nearly six decades of producing primary aluminium. The Kidričevo-based company has recently switched to aluminium processing and other more lucrative activities.
