Strategic Marine, Abu Dhabi Ship Building sign MoU for aluminium vessels

Strategic Marine, a leading specialist shipbuilding, fabrication and engineering companies, and Abu Dhabi Ship Building PJSC (ADSB), a renowned provider of construction, repair and refit services for naval, military and commercial vessels, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the Middle East’s growing market of aluminium vessels.

ADSB's corporate commercial director Mr. Mohamed S. Al Ghas noted: "We know Strategic's solid reputation for the manufacturing of high-performance ships will help to deliver top-of-the-line aluminium vessels to an already demanding market in our region."

The MoU for creating tenders for a range of aluminium vessels aimed at attracting regional buyers. The aluminium vessels will be built at ADSB ship yard in Abu Dhabi.

Strategic Marine’s executive director Mr. Ron Anderson said, “This will give Strategic Marine a chance to build our specialist aluminium vessels in the Middle East for the first time, and allow regional clientele to capitalize on buying our vessels without the extra mobilization and shipping costs from our current facilities in Singapore and Vietnam."

In the beginning, ADSB will invite Strategic to tender on aluminium vessels for defence projects for the majority of the work, but gradually the co-operation will expand into commercial and other areas between Strategic Marine and ADSB, Mr. Anderson added.
