Specialized Allez on track to market their first-ever aluminium frame racing bicycle

EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Specialized is on the track to achieve a new benchmark for the aluminium road bike sector with the all-new Allez Sprint 2022. It is inspired by the much-feared and also liked Tarmac S17, which makes it a close replica of the same.

Specialized Allez has a very long history starting as early as 1981 when the Americans were presented with the steel Allez marking the beginning of an era. Soon bikes were being made with different materials and the experimentation was in full swing. But today, Allez sprint is aluminium dependent and after so many years Specialized has turned its eyes towards this particular non-ferrous metal.

The new model is an aluminium clone of the carbon racer which has been welded using D’Aluisio Smartwelding technology to become the world’s fastest aluminium road bike. In addition to that, the manufacturer has promised to improve the aerodynamics, efficiency, comfort and power transmission. The one-piece bottom bracket shell and down tube are cold-forged from a single piece of aluminium. Three welding points can be deciphered in total from the bottom bracket shell to the seat tube and chainstays which would be very essential for a rigid and high-performance faceoff. Specialized takes no risks in terms of geometry and relies on the identical blueprint as that of the Tarmac SL7, while the numbers in the table differ due to different measurement methods.

LeaderSpeak 2022

The new bike of Specialized is now moving towards sustainability and perseverance with aluminium, instead of all-carbon purebred racing machines, the company is moving towards recyclable aluminium.
