SHFE aluminium price slumps by US$37/t to US$2,678/t; LME aluminium remained closed for Good Friday
On Tuesday, April 11, the SHFE aluminium benchmark price contracted by US$37 per tonne or 1.36 per cent to halt at US$2,678 per tonne.
SHFE 2305 aluminium closed down RMB 25 per tonne or 0.13 per cent at RMB 18,615 per tonne. The open interest dipped from 1,968 lots to 201,697 lots.
At Monday’s night session, the most-traded SHFE 2305 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,605 per tonne, with its lowest and highest at RMB 18,570 per tonne and RMB 18,645 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,620 per tonne, up RMB 5 per tonne or 0.03 per cent.
LME aluminium price
The LME market was closed on April 7 for Good Friday and will remain closed till Monday, April 10.
On April 6, Thursday, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price had closed at US$2,300 per tonne and US$2,300.50 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price settled at US$2,340 per tonne and US$2,340.50 per tonne, respectively.
December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price came in at US$2,533 per tonne and US$2,538 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock closed at 516,800 tonnes. Live warrants totalled 421,450 tonnes, and Cancelled warrants pegged at 95,350 tonnes. LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price totalled US$2,350.61 per tonne last Thursday.
