Shandong Nanshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. operations in Donghai Industrial Park and Nanshan Industrial Park sites have been certified against Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standard. The facilities include an alumina refinery, aluminium smelter, and semi-fabrication operations including an alloy slab line, two alloy plate and strip production lines, and a hot rolling line.

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI said: “ASI congratulates Shandong Nanshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. on their ASI Certifications for these facilities. This is a significant achievement given that it covers both ASI Standards and includes operations from alumina refining through to semi-fabrication, strengthening its already achieved certification at the company’s aluminium foil plant subsidiary. Shandong Nanshan now has the most facilities certified for a China-headquartered ASI Member.”
The ASI Certification program is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process. The independent, third-party audit of Shandong Nanshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. was carried out by DNV GL.
Mr. Cheng Rence, the director of Nanshan Group and the chairman of Nanshan Aluminium, said: “I am very glad that the entire industrial chain of Nanshan Aluminium has passed the ASI performance standard certification. Nanshan Aluminium always adheres to the sustainability development concept, actively performs social responsibility, devotes itself to achieving sustainable and high-quality development, and spares no effort to carry out ASI certification of the entire industrial chain based on its own complete aluminium industrial chain to establish the Company’s international image of a capable, responsible and sustainable company, and we are ready to make our due contribution to the sustainable development of the aluminium industry and entire society.”
