Sabik Offshore, a sister concern of Sedna Wind Technologies and an internationally acknowledged wind farm optimisation specialist, has acquired Weissenborn, an aluminium components maker.
This strategic move was planned by Sabik Offshore since Weissenborn manufactures relevant aluminium solutions for transition pieces (TPs), substations and suspended internal structures designated to aid the offshore wind industry. The use of aluminium reduces the weight of the components to a great extent and allows easy installation. Since aluminium is 100 per cent recyclable, the brand is able to maintain a sustainable approach while making its flagship products, inducing a circular economy in the long run.
The Managing Director of Sabik Offshore, Morten Christensen, mentioned: "As one of the oldest companies in Vejle, Denmark, Weissenborn is a highly respected firm and has established an excellent reputation in the offshore wind industry over recent years."
"The cultures of our two businesses complement each other well, and we look forward to adding value for customers by leveraging the combination of railing design and component integration," Christensen added.
Peter Møller continues to spearhead Weissenborn and will soon join the management team of Sabik Offshore. He commented: "We're delighted to have joined the Sabik Offshore family. This strategic move will allow us to better serve our customers globally, and we look forward to creating innovative solutions with the integration of lighting and marking components on our railings."
"Our shared customers are looking for solutions that reduce interfaces, and that's something we can offer, providing a more efficient and cost-effective customer experience," he concluded.
The conglomeration will keep on manufacturing aluminium components at the existing Weissenborn facility located in Denmark. Weissenborn's patented EverSafe System®, which is a rivet-based aluminium railing system, will be incorporated into Sabik Offshore's retail profile.
Sabik Offshore has been supplying the marine and aviation sector worldwide with bespoke navigation and safety lighting for more than two decades. The brand has extremely potent solutions via which it marks and ignites items used in the offshore wind industry.
