Polestar, a Swedish electric performance vehicle manufacturer, has made a technological breakthrough that might revolutionise production methods. The Polestar 5 electric performance 4dr GT will have a whole new, special bonded aluminium base, according to the company.

The fact that bonded aluminium is lightweight and robust is a major selling point. However, the technology was historically labour-intensive and difficult to use in mass-market automobiles.
Now, the brand's engineers claim to have overcome the problem by designing a totally new and faster production method that simultaneously produces the body and platform. The platform is predicted to weigh significantly less as a consequence of new materials and procedures, which is an important step toward improving road efficiency.
The t4dr is said to have "torsional stiffness superior to that of a standard two-seat sports Vehicle or supercar," according to Polestar.
