Osawa intoduces new technology in milling

Osawa introduces the HF ALU, the new 4 flutes, unequal pitch solid carbide end mill for aluminium, die-cast aluminium, copper and brass machining.
Although still relatively new in aluminium machining applications, the 4 flutes geometry enables high feed rates and high stock removal. Completely lapped flutes and cutting edge combined with the unequal pitch geometry allow in fact the drastic reduction of frictions and vibrations, optimizing swarf ejection even in case of heavy DxD removal.
The positive cutting angle and the unequal pitch promote further reduction of the shear stress, while the scrubbing Wiper profile allows a mirror-like finishing of the workpiece. The HF ALU is made of micrograin carbide, which grants high wear resistance and, consequently, a long tool life.
“This new family of high-performance end mills for ISO N materials is the result of the close collaboration with customers and the continuous research for innovative solutions”, commented Alessandro Sorgato, CEO of Sorma. “With the introduction of HF ALU, we can say that we have achieved our goal of providing solutions that help our customers to increase significantly their productivity and, at the same time, to achieve high levels of performance, both in terms of quality of finishing and in terms of cutting parameters. “
