Nokia N1 Android Tablet with aluminium construction set for January 2015 release

Based on the report from a Chinese website named Sina, Nokia is gearing up for a press conference scheduled for Jan. 7. Notably, this is the day the tech giant will reportedly launch the Nokia N1 tablet. If reports are true, the Nokia N1 release date will also be on the same day after launch. In terms of pricing details, the budget-friendly N1 tablet will set the buyers back by only $249, according to Phone Arena.
As far as the key specifications go, the Nokia N1 features a 7.9-inch IPS LCD display, complemented by 1,536 x 2,048 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a 64-bit quad-core (Intel Atom Z3580) processor, clocked at 2.3 GHz, and the device is backed by a good 2 GB of RAM. On the software end, the device runs on Google's latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, along with Nokia's Z Launcher. Notably, Z Launcher can also be availed from Google Play store.
When it comes to the exterior design and size, the device comes with the much-appreciated aluminium chassis that gives the device a sleek look and its thickness and weight stand at 6.9 mm and 318 g, respectively. When it comes to camera configuration, the Nokia N1 sports a respectable 8 MP rear-facing unit and a surprisingly good 5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies. Moreover, the tablet is equipped with 32 GB of internal storage capacity. However, there is no microSD card support for further expansion. Lastly, the whole configuration is held together and powered by a killer 5,300 mAh battery unit.
The Nokia N1 will be available in two colours, Natural Aluminium and Lava Gray. Even though the exact Nokia N1 release date in regions outside China is unknown at this point, Nokia has acknowledged earlier that the tablet will soon be available outside China.
