New Day Aluminum Holdings appoints John Habisreitinger as new Chief Operating Officer

New Day Aluminum Holdings LLC has announced that it has appointed John Habisreitinger as Chief Operating Officer, who would be responsible for the global operations of New Day’s business.

New Day Aluminum Holdings LLC is the parent company of Noranda Bauxite, Noranda Alumina, and NICHE Industrial Chemicals.

Mr Habisreitinger comes with over 30 years of industry experience in the aluminium and alumina sectors. He was earlier associated with New Day Aluminum as Executive Vice President and then with NICHE Industrial Chemicals as President. Prior to that, he was the President of Noranda Alumina LLC. He also held senior-level positions with Kaiser Aluminum, Norandal, and Noranda.

Mr Habisreitinger graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University and completed an MBA from the University of New Orleans. He is a board member of the Louisiana Chemical Association, with which he is affiliated since 2016.

On being appointed as Chief Operating Officer of New Day Aluminum, Mr. Habisreitinger said, “I am very excited to take on this role. We have a strong team in place across the business, and I look forward to guiding our efforts in realizing our potential.”

New Day’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David D’Addario said, “We are pleased that John has agreed to take on this leadership role for New Day. I am confident his deep understanding of the industry, our operations and our dedicated workforce will provide the direction we need to leverage the great potential of our businesses.”

Mr D’Addario has thanked Scott Croft, the former COO of New Day Aluminum, for his contributions over the past year and wished him the best for his future endeavour.
