Union Mines Secretary Balvinder Kumar who graced the occasion praised Nalco for setting a niche in the field of R&D in the aluminium industry. He said, the new Research and Technology Centre would provide immense competitive benefits to the entire industry.

Chand updated media that his company has inked an R&d agreement with Rio Tinto Alcan for development of AP2XN technology which aims to reduce energy consumption at the smelter by about 5 per cent.
