The chief executive officer of Tomago Aluminium, Matt Howell, has expressed his intent to step down following over his eight years of service from the capacity of a top executive with the effective end of May 2022.

Howell, while mentioning his time as CEO, said, “I want to record my sincere gratitude for the privilege and opportunity to lead and be part of such a fabulous organisation. My time at Tomago and the many friendships forged has been without a doubt, the highlight of my working career.”
“Knowing when to make the call is tough; history is peppered with leaders that stayed too long, whether in business, sport or politics. I know in my heart that this is the right decision for me and Tomago.”

David Fallu, the Chairman at the Board of Directors of Tomago Aluminium, said “On behalf of Tomago Aluminium, I want to express our thanks to Matt for his dedication and service in his time as CEO.”
“Matt has developed and led a passionate and capable team that has achieved a significant transformation at Tomago, to the point where it is now the largest and most efficient Aluminium smelter in the Asia Pacific region.”
The Chairman further added, “Looking back on the last eight-plus years, Matt and the entire Tomago organisation should be incredibly proud. The business is now safer, cleaner and more productive and is a valuable contributor to our community. We will continue to build on Tomago’s great progress, as we work with Matt and his team to effect a seamless transition to the next CEO.”
