
The Malaysia-based aluminium company with a profound global presence, Press Metal is functioning up its production capability to manufacture more value-added aluminium products ensuing the thorough commissioning of its new phase three smelter in Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu, the central region of Sarawak.

The world-class aluminium producer, Press Metal holds two extrusion plants in Klang, Selangor and Guangzhou, China with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes and 160,000 tonnes, respectively.
The facilities produce an extensive range of extrusion products used in the construction, automobile, aerospace, and electronic and electrical sectors. The group has a vigorous presence in Britain, Australia and North American region through its trading arms to market its extrusion products internationally while it holds a dominant 30% domestic market share.
According to the 2020 annual report of Press Metal, the primary markets for these products comprises China (27.9%), Malaysia (26.8%), Britain (20.6%), the United States (9.5%) and Australia (6%).

Tan Sri further added, “With the full commissioning of the phase three smelter, which significantly raised the group’s smelting capacity to 1.08 million tonnes per annum from 760,000 tonnes previously, Press Metal moved into 2022 with higher production volume.”
“The increase in production volume and higher average aluminium prices had given Press Metal a big boost.”
