LME aluminium opened at US$2,824.5 per tonne on Monday and closed at US$2,835 per tonne, an increase of US$7 per tonne or 0.25 per cent.
On Monday, May 16, LME aluminium cash bid price surged by US$69 per tonne or 2.53 per cent to score at US$2,790 per tonne. On the same day, LME aluminium official settlement price also witnessed a hike of US$68 per tonne or 2.49 per cent to halt at US$2,791 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price also ascended by US$72 per tonne to stop at US$2,820 per tonne and US$2,822 per tonne.
December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price escalated by US$52 per tonne or 1.90 per cent to settle at US$2,775 per tonne and US$2,780 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock dropped from 539800 tonnes to 532500 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants for the same day settled at 260075 tonnes and 272425 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price soared up by US$47.77 per tonne or 1.71 per cent to record at US$2,837.51 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
For today, May 17, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE has declined by US$25 per tonne or 0.82 per cent to settle at US$3,019 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2206 aluminium closed up 2.16 per cent or RMB 435 per tonne to RMB 20,555 per tonne, with open interest down 11,770 lots to 163,333 lots.
The most-traded SHFE 2206 aluminium contract opened at RMB 20,600 per tonne overnight and rose to RMB 20,690 per tonne before closing at RMB 20,425 per tonne, down RMB 125 per tonne or 0.61 per cent.
