LME aluminium price hikes by 3.31% to peg at US$3,306/t; SHFE price ascends by US$11/t

LME aluminium opened at US$3,189.5 per tonne on Monday and closed at US$3,228 per tonne, an increase of $29 per tonne or 0.91%.

On Monday, February 14, LME aluminium cash (bid) price had escalated by US$105.5 per tonne or by 3.29% to close at US$3,305 per tonne. For the same day, LME aluminium official settlement price also surged by US$106 per tonne or by 3.31% to stand at US$3,306 per tonne. 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price pegged at US$3,231 per tonne and US$3,232 per tonne. December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price settled at US$2,897 per tonne and US$2,902 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock totalled at 868950 tonnes. Cancelled warrant and Live warrant for the same day scored at 267775 tonnes and 601175 tonnes, respectively.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price registered at US$3,204.40 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price

On Tuesday, February 15, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE increased by US$11 per tonne or 0.30% to come in at US$3,566 per tonne.

The most-traded SHFE 2203 aluminium closed down 1.11% or RMB 255 per tonne to RMB 22715 per tonne, with open interest down 9597 lots to 183038 lots.

Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2203 aluminium contract opened at RMB 22,715 per tonne, with the highest and lowest prices at RMB 22,790 per tonne and RMB 22,470 per tonne before closing at RMB 22,645 per tonne, down RMB 70 per tonne or 0.31%.
