
LME aluminium opened at US$2,394 per tonne Monday, with its high and low at US$2,402.5 per tonne and US$2,358.5 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,370 per tonne, a drop of US$9 per tonne or 0.38 per cent.

On Monday, December 19, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price dropped by US$28 per tonne or 1.18 per cent and US$27 per tonne or 1.14 per tonne to halt at US$2,325 per tonne and US$2,327 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price settled at US$2,363.50 per tonne and US$2,364 per tonne after witnessing a fall of US$32.5 per tonne or 1.35 per cent and US$34 per tonne or 1.41 per cent.
December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price slipped by US$32 per tonne to halt at US$2,448 per tonne and US$2,453 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock closed at 479525 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants clocked at 263650 tonnes and 215875 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price slumped by US$24.65 per tonne or 1.02 per cent to stop at US$2,383.05 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
On Tuesday, December 20, the SHFE benchmark aluminium price has descended by US$17 per tonne or 0.63 per cent to rest at US$2,660 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2301 aluminium closed down 1.09 per cent or RMB 205 per tonne at RMB 18,540 per tonne, with open interest down 6,516 lots to 133,622 lots.
The most-traded SHFE 2301 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,530 per tonne overnight, with its high and low at RMB 18,595 per tonne and RMB 18,475 per tonne before closing down RMB 90 per tonne or 0.48 per cent.
