LME aluminium price drops by US$7/t to total at US$2,648/t; SHFE price hikes by US$28/t

LME aluminium opened at US$2,611 per tonne last Friday and closed at US$2,616 per tonne, an increase of US$3 per tonne or 0.11 percent.

LME aluminium price drops by US$7/t to total at US$2,648/t; SHFE price ascends by US$28/t

On Friday, December 3, both LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME aluminium official settlement price moved down by US$7 per tonne or by 0.26 percent to score at US$2,647 per tonne and US$2,648 per tonne, respectively. On the other hand, 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price also decreased by US$12.5 per tonne and US$11 per tonne, to total at US$2,627 per tonne and US$2,629 per tonne for the same day. December 22 bid price and December 22 offer price stood at US$2,610 per tonne and US$2,615 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock was recorded at 882800 tonnes. Live warrants and cancelled warrants for the same day stood at 677225 tonnes and 205575 tonnes, respectively.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price closed at US$2,639.59 per tonne.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

On Monday, December 6, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE has grown by US$28 per tonne to score at US$2,964 per tonne.

The most-traded SHFE 2201 aluminium closed up 0.45 percent or RMB 85 per tonne to RMB 18975 per tonne, with open interest down 8241 lots to 191546 lots.

Global Aluminium Foundry

The most-traded SHFE 2201 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,925 per tonne during last Friday’s night session, with the highest and lowest prices at RMB 19,075 per tonne and RMB 18,870 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,965 per tonne, up RMB 170 per tonne or 0.9 percent.
