LME aluminium prices declined on August 20 compared with the previous trading day, while exchange stocks remained unchanged. 

The LME aluminium cash bid price stood at USD 3,180 per tonne on August 20, down from USD 3,191 per tonne on August 19, marking a decline of USD 11 per tonne, or 0.34 per cent. The cash offer price fell to USD 3,182 per tonne from USD 3,191.5 per tonne, down 0.3 per cent.

The LME aluminium 3-month bid price declined to USD 3,182 per tonne on August 20 from USD 3,211 per tonne on August 19, a decrease of 0.9 per cent. The 3-month offer price fell by USD 29 per tonne, or 0.9 per cent. From USD 3,212 per tonne on August 19 to USD 3,183 per tonne on August 20.

For December 27, both the bid and offer prices were down by 0.73 per cent. Bid price stood at USD 3,122 per tonne on August 20, in comparison with USD 3,145 per tonne on August 19, a decline of USD 23 per tonne. The offer price decreased to USD 3,127 per tonne from USD 3,150 per tonne. 

The LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price stood at USD 3,205 per tonne on August 20.

On the inventory, LME aluminium opening stocks remained the same at 246,925 tonnes on both August 19 and August 20. Live warrants and cancelled warrants stood at 244,475 tonnes and 2,450 tonnes respectively on both dates.

Meanwhile, the LME alumina Platts price closed at USD 363.20 per tonne, up from USD 355.26 per tonne on August 19, exhibiting a 2.23 per cent increase.
