LME aluminium benchmark price loses US$3/t to US$2,209.5/t; SHFE price declines by US$42/t

LME aluminium opened at US$2,247 per tonne last Friday, with its high and low at US$2,253 per tonne and US$2,226 per tonne respectively before closing at US$2,236.5 per tonne, up 0.56 per cent.

On Friday, February 2, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price dipped by US$3.5 per tonne or 0.15 per cent and US$3 per tonne or 0.13 per cent to settle at US$2,208.50 per tonne and US$2,209.50 per tonne.

As per the London Metal Exchange (LME) data, both 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price went down by US$5 per tonne or 0.22 per cent to clock at US$2,245.50 per tonne and US$2,246 per tonne.

On the same day, December 25 bid price and December 25 offer price slipped by US$10 per tonne or 0.40 per cent to peg at US$2,475 per tonne and US$2,480 per tonne. LME aluminium opening stock arrived at 533475 tonnes.

Live warrants and Cancelled warrants settled at 318575 tonnes and 214900 tonnes. LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price contracted by US$17.29 per tonne or 0.67 per cent to halt at US$2,237.94 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price today

On February 5, today, the SHFE aluminium price declined by US$41 per tonne to peg at US$2,610 per tonne, from US$2,651 per tonne recorded on Friday. The most-traded SHFE 2403 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,870 per tonne last Friday night, with its low and high at RMB 18,810 per tonne and RMB 18,890 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,870 per tonne, up 0.32 per cent.
