
LME aluminium opened at US$2,418 per tonne on Tuesday, with its high and low at US$2,485 per tonne and US$2,407 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,454 per tonne, an increase of US$43.5 per tonne or 1.8 per cent.

On Tuesday, December 13, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price climbed down by US$2.5 per tonne or 0.10 per cent and US$2 per tonne or 0.08 per cent to halt at US$2,387 per tonne and US$2,388 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price inched down by US$1 per tonne or 0.04 per cent and US$2 per tonne or 0.08 per cent. December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price slipped by US$3 per tonne to halt at US$2,503 per tonne and US$2,508 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock came in at 496425 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants pegged at 261350 tonnes and 235075 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price dropped by US$25.82 per tonne or 1.05 per cent to reside at US$2,425.18 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
Today, on December 14, the SHFE benchmark aluminium price has expanded by US$44 per tonne or 1.62 per cent to halt at US$2,753 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2301 aluminium closed down 1.08 per cent or RMB 205 per tonne at RMB 18,740 per tonne, with open interest down 13,651 lots to 159,481 lots.
The most-traded SHFE 2301 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,725 per tonne overnight, with its low and high at RMB 18,725 per tonne and RMB 18,800 per tonne before closing up RMB 60 per tonne or 0.32 per cent.
