Levitating Pen 3.0 comes with an aerospace-grade aluminium body; lightweight enough to float

The third edition of the space-inspired hovering pen has been named Levitating Pen 3.0, just a number up from the last released model. With just a glance, it is almost impossible to realise that it is a working pen and not something just for show.

The incredible physics-defying object, Levitating Pen 3.0, has been forged out of aircraft-grade aluminium and titanium, which gives it a realistic yet fictionalised outlook. The pen comes equipped with a stand, on which it has been meticulously placed upon a touchpoint. The pen keeps moving, pivoted on the stand.

The Levitating Pen 3.0, as the name suggests, can literally float on its stand and spin for a stretch of 30 seconds straight using basic kinetic energy. On the stand, the pen can be placed at a 60° angle, which almost resembles the position of a pen in an inkpot.

We have evolved from quills and papyrus rolls to the use of dot, gel or fountain pens, but this has never been popularised or found on earth before. This futuristic technology not only serves as a luxury item but is actually more stylish than a contemporary Mont Blanc or Sheaffer.

The pen’s all-metal design, made of aircraft-grade aluminium, sits on the magnetic base or bottom stand made of Zinc alloy. One has to just displace the pen from its original position to create smooth strokes on paper, and after use, it can just be returned to its 60° tilted alignment, where the magnetic base attracts the pen’s nib to secure it properly.

Aluminium is extremely lightweight and has a natural shine which reminds us of space. Even many space components are made of aircraft-grade aluminium only. Therefore, the use of aluminium in the making of this pen truly levitates its identity and marks it as a phenomenal discovery.

Levitating Pen 3.0 can be found in silver or anodised black variations, and it has a very silky outlook that is a treat for the grip. It also engages a German-engineered Schmidt rollerball cartridge for immense smooth writing and art.
