B4K owner Andreas Krob reveals FollowMe a lightweight modern aluminium chair crafted for comfort

Denmark-based interior designer and the proprietor of B4K, Andreas Krob, has unveiled his latest creation, the FollowMe task chair for Czech Manufacturer LD Seating, an innovator connecting seating spaces with comfort since 1993. FollowMe gives a modern, utopian, space-centric vibe with its shiny aluminium framework that strengthens the construction of each chair.

The aluminium super-structure does not have a very complex design; instead, it has been precisely formulated to provide ultimate comfort and an elongated skeleton to the backrest.

Just as the backrest has been supported with a robust aluminium frame, the backrest, in turn, provides utmost comfort to a user, as it has been designed to follow the resident's body movement. This means if a person lies back on the chair, it gives full support to his body, but if he wishes to rise from his slumber, the backrest sticks to his back, moving forward, giving him proper assistance.

The use of aluminium also makes the chair incredibly lightweight yet strong, increasing the product's sustainability quotient. Aluminium, once produced, can be infinitely recycled without losing its original properties to create a circular economy, which means the first made batch of aluminium is still somewhere in the end-user products' loop.

A person might feel comfort and stability on board the FollowMe because its honeycomb design created out of a polypropylene-glass fibre amalgamation has a shape similar to a vortex. This helps in eased movements rather than forceful impedance.

Designer Andreas Krob took great interest in sharing his knowledge: "After numerous tests to develop this new structure, we were able to produce a very complex mould for plastic injection moulding. This plastic part, which is mounted on the aluminium frame, offers a wide range of possibilities with different upholstery options."

The extraordinary design of FollowMe lends full support to a user's back, where he can comfortably lean to be held straight again by the torque of the chair. Moreover, the back can retain its shape due to the lumbar support, and there is no requirement for attentive postures.

"When you sit on a flat surface, your pelvis tilts back. The spine is deformed from its S-shape into a simple curve, which places an uneven load on the intervertebral discs. If nothing is done about it, the pain will be permanent," the creator of FollowMe, Krob, notified.

Scheduled to be released in Spring 2023, FollowMe will be available in a variety of different hues.
