Aluminium is no longer a cold material, thanks to the innovative use of metal chains by Kriskadecor. The brand has been transforming the interiors of public and residential buildings by using its versatile aluminium chains to create welcoming and relaxing spaces. From bars to co-housing, Kriskadecor has shown that the shapes and colours of aluminium, when finished and paired creatively, can make any interior inviting.

Its collection of aluminium chains can be used for everything from space dividers and wallcoverings to sculptural lighting and installations. Kriskadecor has successfully challenged the perception of aluminium as a cold material and has proven that it can be used to create warm and welcoming interiors.
Kriskadecor released a statement: "Despite being a metallic and seemingly cold material, aluminium can play a fundamental role in interior design when used strategically and in conjunction with other elements."
"To counteract this perceived coldness, at Kriskadecor, we play with two concepts: colour and shape," the company elaborated.
As per the brand's countenance, its expert team look at "each project in a completely personalised manner" so that the final product can be used in the desired way.
The company, specialising in aluminium chains, has installed its products in various interiors. One notable example is the LATAM Airlines lounge located in a Chilean airport, which was designed by the local architecture firm Grupo Arquitectos. In this particular project, Kriskadecor created a sculptural installation composed of three bronze-hued cylinders that were suspended above the lounge's bar area.
The firm remarked: "Grupo Arquitectos conceived the design of the VIP lounge for LATAM Airlines at Santiago de Chile's airport as a warm and inviting space where passengers could relax and have a more enjoyable journey."
"The floating effect of all the elements, in addition to the light reflecting on the chains, softens and provides a more pleasant and balanced ambience," it concluded.
Kriskadecor has made a positive contribution to the Ecla Paris Villejuif co-living residences in France, designed by Studio Chantal Peyrat. By incorporating colourful aluminium chains into the lighting scheme of the common areas and reception, the atmosphere of well-being and serenity for students and young professionals has been enhanced.
Similarly, in Madrid, Spain, Ballarín Mendoza has made excellent use of green-toned aluminium chain curtains to provide privacy without obstructing the visual field in the glass-enclosed meeting rooms of a co-working space. This has allowed light to enter and create a welcoming environment for all.
