RM Rail Company from Russia, a leading producer of more than 50 models of freight wagons as well as wagons casting has released their strategy for 2017. The top priorities for 2017 include development of innovative wagon designs, an increase in exports and expansion of the range of castings offered. This has been confirmed by CEO Pavel Ovchinnikov.

The company significantly developed its export operations over 2016. The company supplied wagons and components to Iran, Cuba, the Baltic States and Kazakhstan. The company successfully completed the testing of its first aluminium-bodied hopper wagon design in Russia which looked sleeker and had the capacity to carry more weight due to its light weight structure. The company also obtained certification for a high-capacity ammonia tank wagon. The production of specialist wagons increased 55% in 2016 compared to 2015 due to growing demand in the sector. As a part of a diversification programme that begun in 2014, the company has tripled the production of foundry products and currently it offers 450 casting types.
