
Germany exports more aluminium scrap than it imports every year. The automotive industry is the biggest sources from where aluminium scrap is generated. The country exports about 1 million tons of aluminium scrap. WMR Recycling, Harita Metals Co, ScholzAlu Stockach GmbH, TSR Recycling GmbH & Co. KG are some of the major scrap suppliers in Germany.

As shown in data, Germany imported an estimated 787844 tonnes of aluminium scrap in 2017. The total cost of import was USD 1.1 billion. Compared to 2017, the country is estimated to import 760840 tonnes of aluminium scrap. The value of import is estimated to stand at USD 960 million by the end of the current year.
Netherlands and Poland exported 154069 tonnes and 121651 tonnes of aluminium scrap in 2017. UK, France and Austria also export substantial amount of scrap to the country.

In 2017, Germany exported 1 million tonnes of aluminium scrap globally. The total revenue from scrap export amounts to about US$ 1.2 billion. Compared to 2017, in 2018, Germany is estimated to export an estimated 1.1 million tonnes of aluminium scrap globally. The total revenue from the export amounts to US$ 6.9 billion for the estimated amount.
The largest part of aluminium scrap is exported to Austria (183636 tonnes), Italy (169759 tonnes), Poland (132181 tonnes), Luxemburg (103818 tonnes) and France (102118 tonnes) (2017 data). Netherlands and Belgium also import a considerable amount of aluminium scrap from Germany.
