Frontier Resources owns land rich in rare earth elements and high-quality alumina

EDITED BY : SARNALI CHAKRABORTY 3MINS READ

Following the 100% acquisition of privateer Dalkeith Capital Limited, Frontier Resources now owns a healthy tract of land that is regarded as a potential for rare earth and high-quality alumina. Frontier's already increasing armoury of battery minerals in the northwest, which is vital to the creation of permanent magnets within batteries, will be bolstered by the Gascoyne-based rare earth project.

The light rare earth oxides neodymium and praseodymium, which are both important components of permanent batteries, are anticipated to be present in the recently acquired rare earth Gascoyne project.

Frontier claims that rare earth exploration has been limited across the 230 square kilometre Gascoyne tenure, which is surprising given its proximity to the world-class Hastings Technology Metals-owned Yangibana deposit, which has a bonanza of 27.42 million tonnes grading at a solid 0.97% total rare earth oxides.

In terms of total rare earth oxide concentration, the Yangibana deposit contains a 33% neodymium and 52% praseodymium ratio. The ratios make the project one of the most valuable rare earth projects in the world in terms of ore value per kilogramme.

The fact that the Gascoyne tenure is housed by the same probable Proterozoic Durlacher supersuite formation as the Yangibana rare earth project adds to its attraction.

Dreadnought Resources, a $104 million market cap rare earths play, has recently been kicking goals in the nearby vicinity. Dreadnought has recently had a succession of rare earth finds at its Mangaroon project, which is around 15 kilometres southwest of the Yangibana rare earth deposit.

Frontier has also obtained possession of a massive 240 square kilometre landholding evaluated as a potential for high quality alumina at its 100% owned Koolya project, located 460 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie, as part of the Dalkeith Capital transaction.

High purity alumina is a high-value, high-margin substance that is used in the production of smartphone displays, LED lights, timepiece faces, and lithium-ion batteries.

Frontier plans to begin a reconnaissance drill programme as soon as a programme of work permit is obtained for Koolya, which is a drill-ready project. Drilling operations to far have focused on determining the depth, thickness, and alumina concentration of the project region. Furthermore, there is no competing pastoral lease or freehold property in the region, considerably lowering the possibility for a mining operation to be developed. The lease also has access to the Trans Australian Railway, which allows for bulk product shipping.

The need for high purity alumina is expected to increase significantly as the demand for lithium-ion batteries continues to rise.

Frontier's Koolya project is located in a high-quality kaolin-producing area, with Tellus Holdings' Sandy Ridge kaolin mine just 30 kilometres to the northeast and Kula Gold's recent finding of 80 kilometres to the south.

Frontier has issued 75 million ordinary shares and 37.5 million performance shares to Dalkeith owners following the completion of the purchase.

“Completion of the acquisition of Dalkeith complements the recent acquisition of the Murraydium REE Project and allows the Company to progress with planned exploration for critical metals that can help the world reach targets of being net zero carbon by 2050,” said Frontier Resources Chairman, Alec Pismiris.

World Recycled Aluminium Market Analysis

Frontier's initiative may be storming out of the gates in 2022 on its way to supplying the globe with green economy vital minerals since it owns underexplored acreage adjacent to Hastings' large rare earth project and within the same rock formation. Furthermore, once the drill rig gets the dust clouds blowing at its projected leasehold, the high purity alumina project might be high on punters' watchlists.
